Barolo Brunate has a magnificent garnet-red color with intense ruby-red reflections, of correct intensity and tonality. The nose is composite, rich, full and persistent, with hints of vanilla, sweet spices, tobacco, mountain hay and underbrush. Impressive taste sensations reveal the wine’s imperious, noble, warm and velvety character, and the flavor is long and intense.

Enticing aromas of blue flower, woodland berry, menthol and pipe tobacco shape the expressive nose. Full-bodied and youthfully austere, the linear palate features Morello cherry, spiced cranberry, licorice and wild mint alongside noble tannins. Fresh acidity keeps it well balanced. Drink 2026–2046. 

Marcarini's 2016 Barolo Brunate captures much of the mystique of this La Morra site in its beguiling aromatics. Deep, layered and so expressive, the 2016 has a lot to offer. Time in the glass brings out an exotic quality to the red toned fruit, with spice, menthol and floral overtones that linger. I would not be in a rush to open bottles.
